Sephora Collection: Outrageous Volume Mascara

Price: Around $ 18.00

What they said: "A volumizing mascara that delivers pumped-up, glamorous lashes."

What's the scoop?
I DESPERATELY needed a new mascara, and ended up in our malls' newest Sephora. I saw the decoration of this mascara as a little weird but when I tried this stuff on... I was shocked.

Good:
- My lashes were full of volume
- It stayed on ALL day
Bad:
- Is next to impossible to wash off... :(
- Clumped my lashes to the extreme
- I'd say quite pricey...

All in all
6.5/10

Do I recommend it?
This is a lovely mascara but I don't really recommend it for everyday use unless you have healthy & strong lashes.

Tip: (If you choose to buy this mascara... I recommend do not use it if you have short brittle lashes because this mascara does not give you length and your lashes may become weaker then they already are.)

Clinique Foundation Brush

Price: $ 35.00 CND

What Clinique said: Flat, tapered brush is designed for flawless, even application and a natural-looking finish.

What's the scoop?
Remember how I said I went on a Clinique shopping spree? Well I never meant to get this brush... I actually didn't think I needed one until the sales person told me the brush I was currently using to put on my foundation was actually a powder brush...

Good:
- It never caked on my foundation
- It stays clean for a long time
- It's a very soft brush
Bad:
- Cost is kind of pricey
- Takes a long time to get clean
- The brush can get frizzy ( I know it sounds weird)

Do I recommend it?
Yes, this is a very good brush for applying my foundation and I use it every day, I know that sounds cheesy but it's true. To make any face of make-up look good, it's the brush that's behind it all.

All in all
9/10

Tip: ( Clean your brushes around every 3 days at the most, or whenever the brush get's kind of orange and hard, use a shampoo to wash it and let it air dry over night hanging upside down or else the  inside of the brush can get ruined and mouldy and gross).

Clinique Acne Solutions Foundation

                                                     Price: 30.00 CND

What Clinique said:
Feels so fresh, looks so natural. Non-irritating, oil-free makeup helps blend away blemishes, neutralize redness.

What's the scoop?
This is probably my most FAVOURITE foundation of all time! I have really bad acne, and I have tried all types of make-up that has always made me break out but when I got to that Clinique counter... My life changed... But unfortunately, I can only get samples because all over Canada all the Clinique's everywhere have ran out of Alabaster (My colour) in the acne solutions :(

Good:
- It gets rid of my acne while I wear it
- Colours match your skin tone amazingly
- When it's on, it doesn't fade
Bad:
                                                     - Besides the price... THERE ARE NO FLAWS!

Do I recommend it?
Of course! I mainly suggest this for people who have acne prone skin and drug store make-up just makes them break out more. Clinique has all sorts of foundations for all types of skin.  I have a very light skin tone and Clinique has the light tone for me.

All in all
10/10

Tip: (When using this foundation, use a brush, it's much easier to apply that way) :)

Lise Watier Teint Mousse Matifiant

Price: $ 35.00 CND

What Lise Watier said: "This remarkable, Paraben-free foundation perfectly evens out your skin tone, leaving it matte and velvety".

What's the scoop?
This was also part of my mom haul, I didn't know what it was at first... it was kind of strange. So what I do now is I put it on my lids as a primer before my eye shadows... I know it sounds weird but it strangely works, my eye shadows are much more vibrant and they last so much longer!

Good:
- Goes on very easily
- Will last all day
- Does leave a velvety finish
Bad:
- It's pricey
- If you have dry skin, it will become flaky when this foundation is worn
- Leaves a sort of heavy feel

Do I recommend it?
This is a very pricey foundation that can cause your skin to dry out, but otherwise it's a very good foundation. It has even coverage and it will leave a bit of a heavy feel to it but that goes away after a while. I recommend this foundation to people with normal to a bit oily skin.

All in all
7.5/10

Tip: ( When you are applying this foundation, use a proper foundation brush, unless you have a light touch with your fingers, you might accidentally put too much on and it will look cake-y)

Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express

Price: $ 4.00 to $ 8.00 CND

What Maybelline said: "Creates 9x the volume in one coat!"

What's the scoop?
I love to shop for any bargain on make up... or just anything in particular! I got this lil' yellow sucker at a Shoppers  for four dollars! And may I say.... it works too! All my lashes well were not  9x the volume but it made them very voluminous!

Good:
 - All of my lashes were coated evenly
 - It came off very easily with make-up remover
 - It lasted as long as I did! :)
Bad:
- When you first put it on, you can't blink or it will smudge
- Sometimes it when on a little too thick

Do I recommend it?
Yes, this mascara is one of my favourites and it will last all day or as long as you want it too, remember I don't have the waterproof one so this one comes off very easily with make-up remover.

All in all
8.5/10

Tip: (Even though this mascara promises lots o' volume, use a eyelash curler if you have shorter lashes) :)

Lise Watier Quator Eyeshadow Quatuor

Price: 31.00 CND

What Lise Watier said:
"Harmony of four shades of eyeshadow for creating numerous stunning day or night looks."

What's the scoop?
Like I have said tons of times, my mom went on a shopping splurge and she bought mostly Lise Watier stuff, so I thought I'd try it. I tried Les Carbons. It's a more grey-ish toned eyeshadow and man. It just looked awesome.

Good:
- Went on so smoothly
- Stayed on as long as I kept it on
- Came off so easily
Bad:
- Sometimes the shades were too dark
- The powders can get ruined very easily

Do I reccomend it?
For this colour combination in particular is meant for blue eyes, so I recommend it for blue eyes. But if you go to the Lise Watier website they have bunches of combination's just meant for your eye colour.

All in all
7/10

Tip: (The shimmering white in this combination works great to put it in the corner of your eye to make it look like it's awake and pretty)

Almay Smart Shade Concealer

Price: 9.00 $ - 12.00 $

What Almay said:
"Finally a concealer that takes the guesswork out of finding your perfect shade – instantly adjusting to the colour of your skin."

What's the scoop?
My mom and I share something in common, we both have very, very light skin tones. So I went through her makeup bag to see this smart shade concealer (light). I tried it on, and jeez. It was just terrible!

Good:
- It wasn't heavy
- Lasted all day
Bad:
- I put one speck on and it spread on like it was 10x darker!
- Was super flaky, even on oily skin
- It started out light, then after 5 min. it was orange!

Do I recommend it?
No, you can buy other concealers for a better price, but if your skin tone is dark then this might be better for you.

All in all
3/10

Tip: ( You can use this if you have a light skin tone, if you do, wear foundation OVER TOP the concealer, so it will look less or not orange-y.)
